2. Millennials Start Displaying Inclination To Give (The NonProfit Times): Millennials are still a ways away from contributing to the nonprofit sector to the same extent as Baby Boomers and Gen Xers. If signifiers of willingness to give such as volunteerism and attendance at religious services are to be believed, however, Millennials are closer to being as active as their elders than dollars indicate.

3. How to Harness The Super-Power of Urgency in Your Fundraising (Future Fundraising Now): Urgency is one of the most important features of strong fundraising. That's because for most donors, deciding they'll give later is a default decision not to give ever.

4. Improving Donor Retention Is Better Than Chocolate (Shawn Plater-LinkedIn): A nice piece linking together several important research nuggets (though sadly not chocolate nuggets) and identifying what we can do to improve retention.

After all, it’s one of the most effective ways to stay in touch with supporters. But while most nonprofits spend lots of resources writing their email newsletters, most aren’t using it as effectively as they could.

6. Planned Gifts Don’t Go Bump in the Night (The NonProfit Times): From AFP New York Fundraising Day, an interesting discussion on what planned gift officers fear and how they speak with donors about gift opportunities.

7. The Most Charitable Cities in America (Fast Company): The nonprofits in the most charitable cities in the US tend to have several things in common: They spend about 80% of their funding on community programming, don't skimp on overhead funding and budget strategically to avoid relying on grants.
